Jim Catalano
Jim Catalano is the founding partner of The Catalano Firm where his law practice focuses on serving the needs of clients in a variety of areas. Having worked in large law firms for over 20 years he is uniquely positioned to bring a breadth of experience combined with a uniquely independent approach to each case to achieve the best results for the client.
Jim specializes in taking the legal problem faced by a client and resolving it in the best possible manner. A litigator by trade he primarily focuses on matters in court but also helps business clients in a wide range of undisputed matters.
While it is difficult to list all areas Jim has handled client matters they generally include: healthcare, premises liability, professional liability, transportation, dealer franchise issues, catastrophic injuries, construction, intellectual property, products liability, banking, insurance, trade secrets and commercial real estate
Admitted to the bar in 1997 he is licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky and admitted to practice in all federal courts in Tennessee, the 4th, 6th, 11th and Federal Circuits as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
A member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation only organization whose members represent the leaders in trial experience. He has significant jury experience and is double board certified as a civil trial specialist and pre-trial specialist. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubble.
Jim is a graduate of William Jewell College and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
His significant jury trial experience makes him a leader in an area few truly engage in. He is also a certified mediator who is called upon by lawyers to assist in settlements of tough cases.
A Master of the Bench with the Belmont Inns of court he mentors law students and stays active in the community with Habitat for Humanity and Room at the Inn. He is also closely involved with United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee where he serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is a regular speaker on topics involving ethics and litigation.
